CHICAGO, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Corey Crawford recorded a 28-save shutout Sunday and Chicago edged Columbus 1-0 to extend its NHL-record streak to start a season without a regulation loss.

Crawford withstood 13 shots in the second period and three Blue Jackets power plays in the final frame to rack up his second whitewash of the season and ninth of his career.

Andrew Shaw notched the game's only score with 1:27 left in the second period as the NHL-best Blackhawks improved to 15-0-3 on the season.

Steve Mason turned aside 26-of-27 shots for last-place Columbus, which fell for the fifth time in six games.
