DALLAS, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant netted 14 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter Sunday, propelling the Los Angeles Lakers over Dallas 103-99.

Bryant's point total gave him more than 31,000 in his career. He became the youngest-ever player at 34 years, 185 days, to reach the milestone, beating Wilt Chamberlain's mark of 36 years, 164 days.

He also grabbed 12 rebounds and distributed seven assists in the Lakers' third straight victory.

Steve Nash helped out with 20 points and Dwight Howard supplied nine with 13 rebounds in the win.

The Mavericks got 30 points and 13 rebounds from Dirk Nowitzki, but it wasn't enough to avoid their first loss in four contests.
