DETROIT, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Jimmy Howard turned aside all 34 shots he saw Saturday and the Detroit Red Wings snapped a five-game skid with a 4-0 blanking of Nashville.

Howard's shutout was his first this season and the 12th of his career.

Niklas Kronwall led Detroit's offense with a goal and two assists.

Daniel Cleary, Drew Miller and Tomas Tatar also scored for the Wings, who notched their first win since Feb. 10.

The Predators, meanwhile, fell for the fourth time in five outings despite 27 saves from Pekka Rinne.
