NEW YORK, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen Wednesday drew a one-game suspension for delivering a hit to the head of Chicago's Marian Hossa.

Hossa was helped off the ice in the third period of Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Blackhawks after Hansen stuck him in the back of the head with an elbow.

Hansen was issued a minor penalty on the play.

Hossa, who suffered a concussion in last year's playoffs from a hit delivered by Raffi Torres of the Phoenix Coyotes, didn't return to the game.

Hansen was handed the first suspension of his seven-year career and will miss Thursday's Vancouver game in Dallas.
