ST. LOUIS, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Tim Kennedy's slap shot with 7 minutes left in the third period Tuesday boosted San Jose over St. Louis 2-1, ending a seven-game Sharks losing streak.

Kennedy's blast from the left wing beat Jake Allen and handed San Jose its first victory since Jan. 31.

Joe Thornton also found the net while Antti Niemi turned aside 25-of-26 shots in the victory.

Allen finished with 23 saves for the Blues, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

Patrik Berglund recorded the only score for St. Louis.
