CHICAGO, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Brent Seabrook and Jonathan Toews scored first-period goals Sunday and the Chicago Blackhawks, who have yet to lose in the regular season, beat Los Angeles 3-2.

Seabrook and Toews each had one assist apiece for the Blackhawks, who never trailed while improving to 12-0-3 to start the season.

Chicago's 27 points are four better than second-place Anaheim in the Western Conference standings and five better than Eastern Conference leader Pittsburgh.

Patrick Sharp added the eventual game-winner in the second period and Duncan Keith helped out with two assists.

Ray Emery turned aside 25-of-27 shots for the Blackhawks.

The Kings got back into the game with a pair of third-period power-play tallies by Mike Richards off assists from Drew Doughty, but couldn't manage the equalizer.

Jonathan Quick made 34 saves for Los Angeles, which saw its two-game winning streak snapped.
