WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Brad Marchand's power-play goal in the third period proved decisive Sunday in the Boston Bruins' 3-2 victory over Winnipeg.

The Bruins forged a 2-2 tie with less than 2 seconds left in the second period when Daniel Paille redirected Johnny Boychuk's shot from the point past Winnipeg's Ondrej Pavelec.

Boston followed that up just 36 seconds into the final frame when Marchand shoveled a backhander past Pavelec from the slot.

Tyler Seguin scored and Tuukka Rask made 22 saves for the Bruins, who snapped a two-game losing streak in the second contest of a five-game road trip.

Alex Burmistrov had a goal and an assist for the Jets, who dropped their third straight and fourth in five games.

Evander Kane also scored and Pavelec finished with 23 saves for Winnipeg.
