DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Kevin Harvick claimed the Sprint Unlimited at Daytona International Speedway Saturday, posting his third career victory in the non-points race.

Harvick secured the winner's circle on the final lap, outpacing Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle in the first event to feature NASCAR's new Generation-6 car.

Harvick was one of only 12 racers to avoid a multicar wreck on lap 15. The mishap, which began when Stewart clipped Marcus Ambrose, ended the nights of Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Mark Martin and Denny Hamlin.

Biffle ended in second place, while Joey Logano -- making his first start in Penske Racing's No. 22 Ford -- claimed third.

Stewart ended in fourth place, followed by Matt Kenseth, making his debut in Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 20 Toyota.
