NHL: Pittsburgh 3, Winnipeg 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Craig Adams scored two goals for Pittsburgh Friday and the Penguins beat Winnipeg 3-1 for their seventh win in nine games.

Adams opened the scoring with a wrist shot at 3:19 of the first period and then closed the books with an empty-net goal in the final minute of play.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves for the Penguins. James Neal scored a power-play goal early in the third period that put Pittsburgh ahead 2-0.

Andrew Ladd scored the only goal for the Jets at 18:25 of the third period.

Ondrej Pavelec stopped 25-of-27 shots for Winnipeg, which has lost six of its last eight games.
