TORONTO, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay's basket with 4 seconds remaining put Toronto ahead Tuesday and the Raptors survived a late challenge to edge Denver 109-108.

The Raptors led by six points with 5 minutes remaining but Ty Lawson sparked a 14-6 Nuggets run with six points, and Anthony Randolph's free throws with 42 seconds left gave Denver a 108-107 lead.

Gay, however, responded with a clutch basket to regain the lead for Toronto and Lawson missed a 17-foot running jumper at the buzzer, securing the Raptors' third straight win.

Gay finished with 17 points while DeMar DeRozan supplied 22 and eight rebounds for Toronto.

Lawson pumped in 29 points and dished off nine assists for the Nuggets, who dropped a second straight following a nine-game winning streak.
