AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Greg Monroe was one of three Detroit players to reach 20 points Friday, a balanced effort that brought Detroit a 119-109 triumph over San Antonio.

The Spurs had an 11-game winning streak halted by a team that had lost its previous three outings.

Monroe scored 26 points and claimed 16 rebounds, helping the Pistons to a 13-point halftime lead. Brandon Knight added 24 points and Charlie Villanueva provided 21 points off the bench.

Detroit shot 51 percent from the field and outrebounded the Spurs by 16.

Tony Parker led San Antonio with 31 points and eight assists. The Spurs had not lost since Jan. 11 at Memphis.

San Antonio played without center Tim Duncan, who sat out with sore knees and ankles. Manu Ginobili also missed his third straight game with a hamstring strain.
