OTTAWA, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Jay Harrison's wrist shot 2:19 into overtime Thursday produced the winning goal and gave Carolina a 3-2 decision over Ottawa.

The Hurricanes twice overcame a one-goal deficit, Alexander Semin lifting Carolina into a 2-2 tie on the power play with 7:34 left in regulation. Chad LaRose scored the other Carolina goal in what was the third win for the Hurricanes in four games.

Cam Ward had to stop a season-high 45 shots to earn the win and even his record at 3-3. Craig Anderson made 23 saves for the Senators, losers of three out of four.

Erik Karlsson and Daniel Alfredsson scored for Ottawa.
