NASHVILLE, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck says he is open to renegotiating his contract as he enters the final year of his current deal with the team.

Hasselbeck is to make $5.5 million in base salary in 2013. The (Nashville) Tennessean says, including bonus money, the reserve quarterback's salary would count $7.5 million against the salary cap.

"I would definitely be up for that, for sure," Hasselbeck was quoted as saying Wednesday about the possibility of renegotiating his deal. "I'm not in those conversations but I'm aware of them. That topic came up maybe in September, October, November, somewhere in there."

Hasselbeck, 37, recently completed his 14th season in the NFL. He played in eight games -- starting five -- and completed 138-of-221 passes (62.4 percent) for 1,367 yards. Hasselbeck threw for seven touchdowns and had five interceptions, posting a passer rating of 81.0.
