
NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Al-Farouq Aminu led New Orleans on a late surge Wednesday that wrapped up a 93-84 victory for New Orleans over Phoenix.
The Hornets broke a four-game losing streak and won for a Western Conference-low 16th time this season.
New Orleans held an 80-78 lead with 6:24 to play in the final period before going on a 13-2 run that clinched the victory. Aminu had six of his 16 points during that outburst and he also grabbed 11 rebounds.
Greivis Vasquez had 19 points and 12 assists for New Orleans, which gave up only 31 points in the second half. New Orleans shot 52 percent from the field.
Marcin Gortat and Jared Dudley both had 14 points for Phoenix, which had won in Memphis 24 hours earlier. The Suns had captured their previous four meetings with New Orleans.
