SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Two men questioned in the deaths of retired boxer Hector Camacho and a friend in Puerto Rico are free after two months in jail on other charges, officials say.
Jesus Naranjo Adorno and Joshua Mendez Romero were described as persons of interest after Camacho, 50, and his friend Adrian Mojica Marrero were fatally shot in November in Bayamon, El Nuevo Dia reported Tuesday.
Mojica Marrero died at the scene; Camacho died three days later after being declared brain dead.
The men had been held on $1 million bail each on charges connected to an incident in a Santurce nightclub in October.
Prosecutor Gil Ramos asked a judge to dismiss the charges against the men, saying an investigation had found they were not in Puerto Rico at the time of the club episode.
