DETROIT, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Calgary's Dennis Wideman supplied a goal and an assist Tuesday and the Flames bested Detroit 4-1 but lost goalie Miikka Kiprusoff to an injury.

Jarome Iginla scored his first of the season while Curtis Glencross and Mike Giordano also found the nets for the Flames, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Kiprusoff, who has started every game for Calgary, turned aside 19-of-20 shots to earn the victory but exited the contest after the second period following a collision with Detroit's Johan Franzen.

The team said Kiprusoff had sustained a "lower body injury" and wouldn't return.

Leland Irving took over and stopped all six shots he faced in the final frame.

Franzen scored and Jimmy Howard turned aside 19-of-23 shots for the Red Wings.
