NBA: Portland 100, Minnesota 98

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- LaMarcus Aldridge pumped in 25 points to go with 13 rebounds Monday and Portland held off a late Minnesota rally to best the Timberwolves 100-98.

Wesley Matthews added 22 points for the Trail Blazers, who saw their 18-point advantage dwindle to just one point as Dante Cunningham led a 16-6 run for Minnesota down the stretch.

Aldridge, however, blocked a potential game-tying shot by Ricky Rubio with 7 seconds left and a Cunningham jumper at the buzzer fell short, allowing Portland to escape with the win.

Cunningham connected on 11-of-17 shots en route to 23 points while Rubio provided 15 and 14 assists as the Wolves lost for the 12th in 14 outings.
