BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Juan Monaco and Carlos Berlocq each logged dead-rubber singles victories Sunday to close out Argentina's 5-0 first-round sweep of Germany in Davis Cup play.

Monaco bested Tobias Kamke 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) and Berlocq dispatched Christopher Kas 6-2, 6-4 to close out the weekend series, which Argentina clinched Saturday with a doubles win by David Nalbandian and Horacio Zeballos.

The victory put Argentina into the Davis Cup quarterfinals for the second straight year. They will host France in April.

Germany -- playing without injured star Philipp Kohlschreiber -- dropped to 2-7 all-time against Argentina in Davis Cup competition.
