VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Jordan Schroeder scored the only goal of the shootout in the fourth round Friday to give Vancouver a 2-1 victory over Chicago.

The Blackhawks won their first six games of the season, but now have lost two in a row -- both in overtime.

Neither side could produce a goal through the first three rounds of the shootout, but Schroeder put one past Corey Crawford and Roberto Luongo then stopped Nick Leddy.

Alexander Edler scored his third of the season late in the first period to give Vancouver the lead and it remained a 1-0 contest until Patrick Kane tallied midway through the third for the Blackhawks.

Luongo made 27 saves in 65 minutes of action before stopping all four shots he saw in the shootout. He had won just one of his first four starts of the season, losing two of them in shootouts.

Crawford stopped 21-of-22 shots.
