O.J. Mayo led Dallas in scoring with 20 points and Darren Collison had 19. Vince Carter came off the bench to produce 17 and his 3-pointer early in the fourth period highlighted the Mavericks' critical run.

Dallas played without Dirk Nowitzki for the second straight game. He has been out of action with a leg muscle strain.

Goran Dragic came close to a triple-double for Phoenix, scoring 19 points with nine assists and eight rebounds.

Teams from Phoenix and Dallas played each other Friday in both the NBA and NHL. The Dallas teams won both games.
