Italy leads Croatia 2-1 at Davis Cup

PALAVELA, Italy, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Italy took a 2-1 lead over Croatia with a hard-fought doubles win in the first round of the Davis Cup tournament Saturday.

Simon Bolelli and Fabio Fognini prevailed over Marin Cilic and Ivan Dodig 3-6, 6-1, 6-3, 7-6 (13-11) in Turin.

Italy can advance to the semifinals Sunday with a win in the reverse singles portion of the match-up.

Andreas Seppi will take the court first against Cilic, with Fognini and Dodig standing by for the second match of the day.
