DALLAS, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- David Perron's second goal of the game late in the second period proved to be decisive Saturday in the St. Louis Blues' 4-3 victory over Dallas.

Perron added an assist while Wade Redden and Chris Stewart each delivered a goal as the Blues stayed hot with their fourth win in five games to begin the lockout-shortened NHL season.

Jaroslav Halak turned aside 20 shots for St. Louis.

The short-handed Stars -- who were without high-scoring forwards Jaromir Jagr and Derek Roy due to injuries -- got goals from Ryan Garbutt, Michael Ryder and Tomas Vincour.

Rookie goaltender Cristopher Nilstorp was pulled after allowing four goals on 29 shots. Lehtonen mopped up with three saves for Dallas.
