
SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Paul Millsap keyed a quick Utah start Wednesday and the Jazz fought off a late Washington comeback to defeat the Wizards 92-88.
Utah led by as many as 21 points in the final stages of the third quarter and held on to win its fourth in a row and sixth out of seven.
Millsap scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Gordon Hayward added 15 points for the Jazz and Al Jefferson delivered 11 points and 10 boards.
Washington came within three points with 19 seconds to play on a 3-pointer from Martell Webster, but Randy Foye hit two free throws for the Jazz with 12 seconds left to wrap up the win.
The Wizards finished a five-game road trip with a 2-3 record. Webster scored 15 points and John Wall added 14 for Washington.
