Cousin of NFL's Hester arrested for murder

MIAMI, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Antionne R. Hester, a cousin of Chicago Bears wide receiver Devin Hester, has been arrested in Florida and charged with murder, officials say.

Antionne Hester, 22, had evaded police for more than six months, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.

U.S. Marshals arrested Hester Monday night in Riviera Beach.

Hester had been wanted in the early morning July 4 shooting death of Bevins Bennett in Broward County.

Bennett, 20, was in the back seat of a car returning from a party when he was shot four times by another person in the car, authorities said. Witnesses said the shooter jumped out of the car at a stoplight and ran.

Bennett died five days later.

Hester was previously acquitted of attempted murder for shooting at people in a car in 2010.

Devin Hester graduated from high school in South Florida and attended the University of Miami.
