MONTREAL, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Andrei Markov netted a pair of goals for Montreal Tuesday and the Canadiens logged their first victory of the season with a 4-1 decision over Florida.
Carey Price stopped 27-of-28 shots for the Habs, who bounced back after falling to Toronto in Saturday's season opener.
First-round draft pick Alex Galchenyuk fired in his first NHL goal and Tomas Plekanec added a tally in the Canadiens' victory.
Tomas Kopecky scored for the Panthers, who fell to 1-2 to start the season.
Scott Clemmensen, who entered the contest with a 6-0-0 career record against Montreal, was touched for four goals on 33 shots in the loss.
