While the Radwanska win didn't change the rakings -- she remains No. 4 -- Vesnina jumps to 21 spots to No. 47 by winning the Moorilla Hobart International in Australia with a final-match win Saturday. She had been 0-6 in WTA finals appearances.
Radwanska won the Apia International Sydney final Friday, six days after she took the season-opening tournament in Auckland.
The tennis world turns to the first Grand Slam event of the season this week with the Australian Open, which began Monday.
No. 1-ranked Victoria Azarenka is the top seed for the event, which she won last year. Azarenka has been atop the ratings for a total of 47 weeks, including the last 28. She beat No. 2-ranked Maria Sharapova in the 2012 Australian Open final. Sharapova opened her 2013 Open with a 6-0, 6-0 rout.
Azarenka has 10,325 rankings points and Sharapova has 10,045. Serena Williams, who also has a tournament win this year, is No. 3, piling up 9,750 points. Radwanska has 7,750.
