NBA: New York 100, New Orleans 87

NEW YORK, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony and Chris Copeland combined for 49 points Sunday and the New York Knicks ended a recent slide with a 100-87 victory over New Orleans.

Anthony put in 27 points and Copeland added 22 as the Knicks snapped a three-game losing streak.

Also making big contributions were for New York were Amare Stoudemire (12 points) and Tyson Chandler (five points, 14 rebounds).

The Hornets got 22 points from Eric Gordon but couldn't prevent their four-game winning streak from ending.

Anthony Davis helped out with 13 points and eight boards for New Orleans.
