HONOLULU, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Russell Henley fired a 3-under 67 and Scott Langley responded with a 5-under 65 Saturday to share the lead after three rounds of the Sony Open in Hawaii.

The pair of PGA Tour rookies each finished at 17-under-par 193 and broke the 54-hole record at the Waialae Country Club event, previously held by John Huston and Brad Faxon (194).

They finished the day three strokes ahead of their closest competitor -- Tim Clark, who posted his second straight 66 to end three rounds at minus-14.

Sharing fourth one shot further back were two-time runner-up Charles Howell III (67) and Scott Gardiner (65).

Knotted at minus-12 were Pat Perez (67), Matt Jones (64), Danny Lee (66) and Chris Kirk (68).
