NBA: Oklahoma City 106, Minnesota 84

OKLAHOMA CITY, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 49 points and 16 rebounds Wednesday to launch Oklahoma City over Minnesota 106-84.

The Thunder improved their home record to 18-3 as Minnesota began trying to find points and rebounds without the services of Kevin Love.

It was announced earlier in the day Love, would miss 8-10 weeks due to surgery which has yet to be performed on a broken hand. He was averaging 18 points and 14 rebounds a game this season.

Durant scored 26 points while Westbrook had 23 and both players pulled down eight boards. Kevin Martin came off the bench to score 19 points for the Thunder.

Oklahoma City produced the final five points of the first half to take a 47-42 lead at the break, then took control over the final two periods.

Alexey Shved led the Timberwolves with 18 points while Nikola Petkovic had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
