BOSTON, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Jeff Green led a 47-point performance by the Boston bench Wednesday that brought the Celtics an 87-79 victory over Phoenix.

Boston built a 12-point lead at halftime, saw that cushion dwindle to three points through three quarters and then held on to win its fourth straight.

Green had 14 points, Jason Terry had 13 and Jared Sullinger contributed 12 for Boston -- all off the bench. Kevin Garnett was the leader among Boston starters with 10 points.

Phoenix has lost four in a row and has dropped 11 consecutive road contests. This was the second outing in a four-game road trip for the Suns.

Luis Scola led Phoenix with 16 points and Jared Dudley had 14 along with 10 rebounds.
