MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Wesley Matthews and Nicolas Batum each scored 26 points and Portland notched 16 three-pointers Saturday in its 102-97 win over Minnesota.

LaMarcus Aldridge accounted for 14 points and nine rebounds for Portland.

Minnesota got 21 points and 15 rebounds from Nikola Pekovic, but it wasn't enough to overcome the loss of all-star forward Kevin Love, who was shelved before the game with a broken hand.

The Timberwolves announced Love had re-fractured the third metacarpal in his right hand, which he originally broke during the pre-season while doing knuckle pushups.

Derrick Williams (18 points), Andrei Kirilenko and Luke Ridnour (15 apiece) also reached double figures for Minnesota.
