NBA: Boston 89, Atlanta 81

ATLANTA, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce keyed a Boston rally with 17 third-quarter points Saturday and the Celtics came away with an 89-81 win over Atlanta.

Pierce finished with 26 points. Rajon Rondo added a triple-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as Boston overcame a 15-point halftime deficit.

The Celtics outscored Atlanta 33-9 in third quarter to put the game away and log their second straight win following a four-game losing streak.

Lou Williams put in 28 points and Jeff Teague added 17 for Atlanta, which dropped a second consecutive contest.
