Former Lakers coach Phil Jackson to wed Jeanie Buss

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Jeanie Buss, executive vice president of business operations for the Los Angeles Lakers, says she is engaged to former Lakers coach Phil Jackson.

The couple have been together since 2001.

"Phil finally gave me that ring I wanted! :-)" Buss tweeted Thursday, along with a photo of the bauble.

Jackson popped the question during the New Year holiday, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles reported.
