The team said it will stop selling beer at Lambeau Field at the start of the third quarter of Saturday's game. Normally, fans can buy beer at the stadium until the start of the fourth quarter.
The Packers said stadium security workers "will be extra vigilant" during the game against the Vikings, because of the combination of meeting a fierce North Division rival in the playoffs on a Saturday night. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EST.
Doug Collins, Packers' director of corporate security/risk management, said in a statement posted on the team's website "the vast majority of our fans" follow the team's code of conduct for fans, but those who violate the code "will be addressed so that others may continue to enjoy the game."
"Night games previously have presented us with more challenges than normal with regard to inappropriate behavior," Collins said. "We are asking fans to enjoy the game responsibly and also help us out by reporting poor conduct to stadium and law enforcement personnel, either in person, or by text at the number posted in the stadium."
