NEW YORK, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Nicolas Batum drained six 3-pointers en route to 26 points Tuesday and Portland spoiled the return of Amar'e Stoudemire with a 105-100 win over New York.

Damian Lillard added 21 points and hit a crucial 3-pointer to turn back as late Knicks rally as the Trail Blazers opened a four-game road trip with a victory.

Portland recorded its eighth in 10 games with the help of LaMarcus Aldridge (19 points, 14 rebounds) and J.J. Hickson (18, nine).

New York had hoped for a better result with the return of Stoudemire --who made his season debut after missing the first two months of the season after knee surgery -- but he was held to six points on 3-of-8 shooting over 16 minutes.

New York's Carmelo Anthony also made a reappearance after missing two games with a hyper-extended knee.

The superstar center responded with a 45-point performance but couldn't connect on a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the final seconds.
