AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Brandon Knight scored 20 points and Austin Daye added a late 3-pointer to turn back a Sacramento rally Tuesday in Detroit's 103-97 win over the Kings.

Knight's free throw with 1:07 remaining gave the Pistons a three-point lead at 98-95 and Daye's 3-pointer with 11 seconds left sealed the victory for the Pistons.

Daye finished with 13 points and Greg Monroe posted a double-double of 18 and 11 rebounds as Detroit notched a third straight win for the first time this season.

Will Bynum chipped in with 15 points for the Pistons.

The Kings were led by DeMarcus Cousins with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Jason Thompson (16 points, six boards) and Jimmer Fredette (14 points off the bench) also turned in good performances for Sacramento.
