NBA: Atlanta 95, New Orleans 86

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Josh Smith scored 23 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and distributed seven assists Tuesday in the Atlanta Hawks' 95-86 victory over New Orleans.

Smith also blocked four shots and perpetrated three steals as Atlanta stayed hot with a fifth win in six games.

Al Horford connected on 10-of-17 shots en route to 20 points and Kyle Korver notched 14 in the Hawks' victory.

Zaza Pachulia helped out with a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards for Atlanta.

New Orleans, meanwhile, fell for the 13th time in 15 games despite five 3-pointers and 23 points from Ryan Anderson.

Greivis Vasquez contributed 17 and 10 assists, but it wasn't enough for the Hornets.
