EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Eli Manning threw a career-high five touchdowns passes and New York routed Philadelphia 42-7 Sunday, but the Giants still missed the NFC playoffs.
Manning finished with 208 yards on 13-of-21 passing and hooked up twice with Rueben Randle on scoring strikes as the Giants (9-7) rolled to a one-sided win, but Chicago's victory over Detroit Sunday eliminated New York from post-season contention.
Rookie David Wilson also caught a Manning scoring pass for the defending NFL champion Giants, whose season was doomed by 2-5 stretch late in the campaign.
Philadelphia (4-12) got 148 yards from scrimmage and touchdown from Ahmad Bradshaw in the loss as the Eagles wrapped up their worst season under the 14-year tenure of Coach Andy Reid.
