NBA: Portland 89, Philadelphia 85

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Nicolas Batum pumped in 22 points and Damien Lillard provided 20 more Saturday, helping the Portland Trail Blazers hold off Philadelphia 89-85.

J.J. Hickson contributed 16 points and 13 boards as Portland won for the seventh time in nine games before embarking a key four-game road trip.

The Blazers also got 16 points, five rebounds and four assists from LaMarcus Aldridge. Batum added eight assists and seven rebounds.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, fell to 1-3 in the midst on an eight-game road swing.

Jrue Holiday scored 29 points and had nine assists, but also turned the ball over seven times for the 76ers.
