MEMPHIS, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay put in 19 points and grabbed six rebounds after missing the Grizzlies' previous game, sparking Memphis to an 81-72 win over Denver Saturday.

Gay wasn't in the lineup during the Grizzlies' 99-89 loss to Philadelphia Wednesday after being excused for personal reasons.

Memphis improved to 13-3 at home with the help of Zach Randolph, who added 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Nuggets, meanwhile, lost for the first time in three games.

Andre Iguodala, JaVale McGee and Corey Brewer each scored 12 points and Kenneth Faried added 11 for Denver.
