NBA: Denver 126, Los Angeles Lakers 114

DENVER, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Corey Brewer scored 27 points off the bench Wednesday and hit six 3-pointers to send Denver rolling over the Los Angeles Lakers 126-114.

All the Denver starters finished in double figures, but it was Brewer who created the biggest spark by making 6-of-7 from beyond the arc.

The Nuggets ended the Lakers' five-game winning streak. Los Angeles missed a chance to move above the breakeven mark for the first time since the Lakers were 6-5 on Nov. 20.

Kenneth Faried had 21 points and 15 rebounds for the Nuggets while Ty Lawson produced 17 points and 14 assists. Andre Iguodala contributed 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Denver survived a 40-point show from Kobe Bryant, who made 13-of-24 shots from the field. Pau Gasol added 19 points and Dwight Howard had 12. Howard was ejected in the third period after being given a flagrant-two foul for hitting Faried on the head while Faried was driving to the basket.
