Williams, Sharapova roll into Italian Open quarterfinals
UPLAND, Calif., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Frank Pastore died of injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash in California, the radio station he worked for said on its website.
KKLA-FM, Glendale, Calif., said Pastore, 55, died Monday from complications of injuries from the Nov. 19 collision in Duarte, east of Los Angeles.
Pastore was a member of the Reds from 1979-1985. He pitched in 1986 for the Minnesota Twins and retired from baseball after a final year in the Texas farm system.
His career MLB record was 48-58, with an ERA of 4.29 in 220 appearances.
Pastore had been an on-air host at KKLA, a Christian station, at the time he was injured. He had been in a coma since the crash and was recently transferred from USC Medical Center in Los Angeles to a hospital in Upland, the San Gabriel Valley Newspaper said Tuesday.
Funeral arrangements were pending.
