Bubba Watson back in golf's Top 10

VIRGINIA WATER, England, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Bubba Watson's performance in the Thailand Golf Championship returned him to the Top 10 of the men's world golf rankings.

Watson tied for second at Asian Tour event and jumps from 12th to No. 8 in the rankings updated Monday. He pushes four players, including Webb Simpson, who is now 11th, each down one spot.

Charl Schwartzel had three 7-under-par 65s en route to a 25-under total of 263 in winning the Thailand tournament by by 11 strokes Sunday. He moves up four places to 23rd in the rankings. Thitphun Chuayprakong, who tied Watson for second, rockets more than 400 spots to No. 284.

Scott Jamieson won the weather-embattled Nelson Mandela Championships in South Africa, the first tournament on the 2012-13 European Tour calendar. That moves him from 167th to No. 115 in the rankings.

Rory McIlroy leads the rankings with a points average of 13.805, with Luke Donald second at 9.129 and Tiger Woods (8.902) at the No. 3 spot.

Justin Rose sits in fourth at 6.688 followed by Louis Oosthuizen (6.375), with Lee Westwood (6.371) ranked sixth and Adam Scott's average of 6.368 right behind in seventh.

Watson's average is 5.587. He forces Jason Dufner (5.543) into ninth and Brandt Snedeker (5.483) is No. 10. Simpson has an average of 5.445.
