NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony returned from an injury to score 34 points and the New York Knicks stayed undefeated at home Sunday with a 112-106 win over Denver.
Anthony -- who had missed two games with a lacerated middle finger on his left hand -- got back into the swing of things by hitting a trio of 3-pointers and 11-of-16 free-throw attempts.
Jason Kidd helped out with 17 points and seven assists, while Tyson Chandler added 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Knicks improved to 8-0 at Madison Square Garden, getting off to their best home start since 1992-93.
Ty Lawson contributed 23 points and Danilo Gallinari added 21 and nine boards for the Nuggets, who lost for the second time in three road contests on a five-game trip.
