NBA: Boston 100, Minnesota 85

BOSTON, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce led all five Boston starters in double figures Wednesday and the Celtics pulled away in the second half to down Minnesota 100-85.

The Timberwolves owned a four-point halftime lead before Boston dominated the final two quarters thanks to 52 percent shooting.

Garnett and Pierce both scored 18 points, Jason Terry and Rajon Rondo had 17 each, and Brandon Bass scored 13 for the Celtics. Rondo also contributed 12 assists.

Minnesota had been trying for its third straight win during a stretch in which the Timberwolves will play six of seven on the road.

Kevin Love scored 19 points and had 13 rebounds for the Timberwolves. Love was coming off his worst game of the season, one in which he managed only six points in a win over Philadelphia.
