NBA: New York 108, Washington 87

NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith both had 20 points Friday in helping New York steadily pull away for a 108-87 decision over Washington.

Coming off their first win of the season, the Wizards faded during the second half while falling to 1-13.

New York has won back-to-back games and kept pace with the hot Brooklyn Nets at the top of the Atlantic Division.

Tyson Chandler and Ronnie Brewer both had 12 points for the Knicks, who remained one of three teams in the NBA still unbeaten at home this season.

New York hit 53 percent of its field goal attempts and forced 17 Washington turnovers.

The Wizards were led by 17 points off the bench from Jordan Crawford.
