Ditka says he's OK after minor stroke

CHICAGO, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Former Chicago Bears Coach Mike Ditka declared himself healthy three days after suffering what was called a minor stroke at a Chicago-area country club.

"I feel good about everything. I'm going to be all right. I'm Iron Mike, c'mon. A little rusty, but Iron Mike," Ditka, 73, a football analyst on ESPN, said Monday

He was released from a hospital Sunday and received a clean bill of health from doctors, the Chicago Tribune reported.

"I was kind of like driving down the highway of life real fast and I had a flat tire. I'm OK. You don't expecting these things to happen. They come up on you. It opens your eyes," Ditka told ESPN Radio Monday.

Steve Mandell, Ditka's agent, said Ditka plans to host his radio program Tuesday, as scheduled.
