HONG KONG, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Miguel Angel Jimenez became the oldest player to win a European Tour event with a one-stroke victory Sunday at the UBS Hong Kong Open.

Jimenez, who turns 49 in early January, shot a 5-under-par 65 Sunday for a tournament total of 15-under 265 in edging Fredrik Andersson Hed by one stroke.

It was the third time Jimenez has won the Hong Kong Open. His other titles came in 2005 and 2008 and are part of the 12 European Tour titles Jimenez has won since turning 40. He has 19 European Tour championships overall.

Jimenez completed this third consecutive bogey-free round with five birdies Sunday. He ran off four consecutive birdies over Nos. 7-10 and posted pars the rest of the way in.

Andersson Hed made a charge at Jimenez, twice getting three consecutive birdies. But after a birdie at the par-5 13th -- his fourth at the hole in the tournament -- he had five pars and ended up in second.

Marcus Fraser, despite a ninth-hole bogey, also shot 64 Sunday and was third at 12-under. Stephen Gallacher (65 Sunday), Peter Lawrie (66) and Matteo Manassero (68) tied for fourth at 11-under.

Michael Campbell who was tied with Jimenez for first after three rounds, had a 2-over 72 -- with a 6 on the par-4 18th -- in the final round and finished tied for eighth, seven strokes off the pace.
