LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Danny Green sank a 3-point shot with 9.3 seconds to play Tuesday that lifted the San Antonio Spurs to an 84-82 road win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Tony Parker scored 19 points and Tim Duncan tallied 18 for the Spurs, who ran their record to 7-1 while consigning Los Angeles to a 3-5 mark on the eve of Mike D'Antoni's debut as head coach.

The Spurs went to Green rather than one of their frontline scorers on the play that was set up during a San Antonio timeout and then played solid defense that forced Pau Gasol to take a tough 3-point try on the Lakers last possession.

Green finished with 11 points for the Spurs who prevailed despite shooting 38.9 percent from the field and being outrebounded 48-38.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 28 points. Dwight Howard had 13 points and 15 rebounds. Gasol scored 10 and had 10 boards.

The Lakers led 43-38 at halftime but were outscored 22-16 in the third quarter.
