Bjorn leads Singapore Open

SINGAPORE, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Thomas Bjorn owns a one-stroke lead through Saturday's play at the European Tour's Barclays Singapore Open.

The first two days of the tournament were plagued by poor weather, with rain and lightning shortening play both days. The resulting backup caused a suspension of play because of darkness with no player getting in more than 12 third-round holes.

The third round is to resume early Sunday with organizers looking to complete the tournament on schedule.

Bjorn, who didn't even get on the course Saturday, got in just three third-round holes before play was called. He's at 9-under-par for the tournament, one stroke up on Chris Wood with George Coetzee, who had a second-round of 8-under 63, in third at 7-under. Wood and Coetzee also played three holes in the third round.

Coetzee's second round included four straight birdies over Nos. 1-4 but he had a bogey at No. 2 in the third round to slip two off the pace.

Wood had four birdies over the last five holes in the second round and birdied No. 2 in the third to get to second place.

Bjorn had a bogey-free 4-under 67 in the second round, with three of his birdies coming over Nos. 11-14, and opened the third round with three pars.
